Principal – Technology
Overview
This is a senior leadership role overseeing a multidisciplinary team responsible for AV, IT, and electronic security design across a range of complex projects.
Reporting into executive leadership, you’ll combine technical direction, team leadership, and commercial involvement—playing a key part in both day-to-day delivery and longer-term growth.

Core Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead and develop a team of design professionals, setting clear expectations around performance, quality, and accountability
  • Provide consistent mentorship, feedback, and structured development support
  • Build a collaborative, high-performing environment where standards are understood and maintained

Project Delivery & Oversight

  • Oversee the delivery of low-voltage / technology design projects from early planning through to completion
  • Maintain quality control across all outputs—ensuring alignment with scope, timelines, and budgets
  • Review workstreams and provide senior-level guidance on technical approach and client communication

Client Engagement & Growth

  • Act as a senior point of contact for clients, supporting key relationships and project pursuits
  • Identify new opportunities and contribute to proposal development and positioning
  • Work closely with leadership on growth priorities, market strategy, and client engagement
  • Represent the business externally through industry involvement and events

Financial & Commercial Responsibility

  • Take ownership of departmental financial performance, including budget tracking and forecasting
  • Monitor project profitability and adjust where required to maintain financial targets
  • Assess investment decisions (people, tools, systems) to support sustainable growth

Travel Expectations

  • Regular travel is expected, typically on a monthly basis
  • For remote hires, periodic time in the main office (every 4–6 weeks initially) is important to support integration and team alignment, with flexibility increasing over time

Experience & Background

  • Around 15+ years’ experience within technology consulting or related environments
  • Track record of leading teams, developing talent, and managing delivery across multiple projects
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience supporting client development and maintaining relationships
  • Well-rounded technical understanding across AV, IT, and/or security systems
  • Comfortable working across design platforms such as Revit, AutoCAD, and other industry tools
  • Degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Industry certifications (e.g. CTS-D, RCDD) advantageous
